Dining Room

The key here was storage, storage and more storage so I created two large built-in cupboards - one to house work items for the client’s business and the other to house toys and books. Everything can be put away at the end of the day when the family sits down to dinner, it was important to the client to be able to separate family life from work life.

The room has some interesting architectural features which I embraced and made part of the design. The alcoves were treated as two halves of a whole and create a split vignette with single linen curtains, matching plants, lamps and sideboards for yet more storage.

One of my favourite elements of this project was the creation of a bar cupboard from an existing recess (a former window space before an extension was added), a cupboard was created to house barware and spirits, and a space was left underneath to create a shelf and this was backed with a bespoke foxed mirror.

This family needed a lot from their space and this design really went above and beyond to give them what they need

I would recommend Emma for any design project. She is very professional and has excellent attention to detail. She came up with innovative solutions to problems that I would never have thought of and friendly and easy to work with.
